Sodium Bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline, but often appears as a fine powder.  Soda blasting is an environmentally friendly way of removing paint, dirt, coatings, and other surface contaminants without causing damage to the surfaces being cleaned.


Cleaning of plant machinery prior to maintenance, removal of graffiti from brick work and concrete, removal of paint from locomotives, cars, trucks etc. and degreasing of metal vats in food production industry.


  • Sodium bicarbonate has a non-abrasive action that allows it to be used on surfaces that other abrasive media (sand blasting) would damage i.e.: aluminium, stainless steel, brick, stone, glass, fiberglass, wood, plastic, seals, bearings, splines, radiator cores, and hydraulic cylinders
  • Does not cause heat build up, sparks, or abrasion to the surface being cleaned
  • Water soluble thus environmentally-friendly and safe for disposal
  • Suitable for open blasting applications where reduced operating dust levels and ease of waste disposal are essential
  • Can be used in either wet or dry applications and won't damage parts such as seals, bearings, shafts, pumps etc. as well as glass, rubber, fibre glass, composites, galvanised surfaces etc.
  • Removes paint, carbon, grease, dirt and various other build-up of products from a variety of materials
  • Used in the wet blast technique there is minimal contamination of surrounding area, resulting in quick and easy clean up.
  • The Sodabrade abrasive is a soft, water-soluble material that acts as a rust inhibitor prior to coating.
  • Ideal for a variety of applications from heavy duty components to delicate, thin-gauged materials such as aluminium, copper, etc.
